Freedom Of Being You

Standard

Being ourselves requires a lot of work. It actually requires more effort to stay true to who you are rather than being who everyone else wants you to be. Why is being authentic so difficult and downright scary?!? Because being YOU, goes against all of society’s rules and regulations.

Cultivating wisdom creates freedom and freedom gives us more space for what the world has to offer us.

Freedom is not being constrained to the bounds of our rigid minds and thoughts. Nor is it following the path that has already been beaten up and walked on. It means finding moments each day that speak to who you really are and listening to that still voice who whispers only words of truth, freedom, abundance and love. Once we remove the chains of who we think we are supposed to be we will begin to create a path that better serves our purpose.

How do you create freedom?

4 Ways to Shed Old Baggage

Standard

I truly believe that we are the full representation of our true selves when we are children. Untouched by social media, money, fame, pressure, competition or responsibility; we are than able to fully express ourselves without having to apologize.

However, we begin to develop layers as we age. Each layer we add takes us further and further away from who we really are. Along the way we develop baggage that gets heavier if we are not equipped with the right tools for self-discovery. So here are five ways to shed some old baggage.

1. Create a list of authenticity.  Write down all the things that encompass who you truly are the good, the bad, that happy the sad. Remembering all these things make up our experience here in earth.

2.  Use Visualization. I find this tool to be the most powerful. We can create how we want to feel simply by using our imagination. So visualize you, just being you! Not trying to fit the mold, or anyone else’s standards… remembering you are enough!

3. Laughter is definitely the best medicine. The most healing thing we can do for ourselves is let out a good belly laugh, and if you can’t find one I highly recommend http://www.wimp.com they have some great videos that are sure to bring a smile to your face.

4.  Quiet the mind…Once we create more stillness in our lives the baggage we accumulate seems more manageable.  We are able to process and heal quicker when the dust has settled from within. Just simply creating a 5-minute mediation routine a day can do wonders.
